How do I add data entries to the old waste module?


Step 1:

Navigate to the 'Data Management' screen at the top of the screen, and select 'GHG Activities'.


Step 2:

Click 'Select' next to the waste activity you wish to add data to (See 'Select' in image above). Please note that, the organisational tree-view structure on the left, activity search filter at the top of the table and date picker can be used to search for a particular activity.


Step 3:

Click 'Add New Data Item' to fill out all mandatory fields marked with an '*' and click on 'Save'.


How do I upload data in bulk to the old waste module?


Step 1:

Navigate to the 'Data Management' and 'GHG Activities' screens, and select 'Multi-Site Upload'.


Step 2:

Click on the waste activity source category for the waste data you wish to upload in bulk via excel/data template.



Step 3:

You will then be prompted to upload the spreadsheet/data template you wish to upload the data from. After the green circle appears, click on 'Continue'.


Step 4:

You will need to select the name of the sheet you would like to upload data from, and for the Activity Unique Reference please select the Mapping ID. Then, click on 'Continue'.


Step 5:

Next, using the drop down boxes, column map i.e. match all of the data fields with an '*' to the columns in your spreadsheet. Once completed, click on 'Finish'.

Please note that, a specific waste combination will need to be created via Manage Waste Fractions (See Manage Settings on the right of the screen) in order for the Emission Factor field to be filled out, as shown below. For instance, the waste combination for the waste fraction 'Paper/Cardboard' + waste disposal type 'Recycling' + waste disposal location 'Offsite' is mapped to the emission factor 'Paper and board: Mixed (assumed 25% paper, 75% board) - Recycling - Closed loop' supplied by DEFRA in order for the data to be uploaded.
