Step 1: To begin, navigate to the meter manager screen by selecting the Data Management menu icon at the top of the screen and clicking on the Meter Manager button from the drop down menu. Once on the Meter Manager screen click on the "Add New Meter" button above the meter table as shown below. Step 2: Select the Activity Source Category for the meter you wish to create. For example Stationary Combustion for gas meter, or Electricity. There are five options available for Meters, Stationary Combustion for Natural gas meter, Purchased & Used Electricity meter, Purchased Heat and Steam meter, Water or Electricity Generation meter.
Step 3:Next select the building(s)/facility that you wish to create the new meter for. Use the tree view (A) and search filter (B) to filter the list to select your building (C).
Step 4: After you have selected the desired building, a screen will appear requesting CRC information about the meter you wish to add. If the meter is covered by the UK’s CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme select the UK CRC Scheme check box indicated by the below image. This will make the meter appear in the CRC reports. If your organisation has a CRC exclusion for this meter, choose the exclusion from the drop down list for example EU ETS, or CCA exclusion. Once this changes have been made click Continue (as shown below).
Step 5: Next a meter configuration screen will appear requesting information about the meter you wish to add. Complete the general settings (information as requested, inputting the name of the meter and selecting the meter end use and tick the building it applies to. At this point you can also set up other specific information about the meter as shown in A below; Meter Settings (see B below), Data Completeness settings (see section 13), and Anomaly Testing.
Step 5 B:Meter Settings – Complete the information as requested providing a meter name, type, number etc. See A – I below. A – Input the Meter Number of the meter. This will also be the Unique Mapping ID. B – Input the Meter Serial Number of the meter (this field is optional) C – Choose the profile type of the meter. There are 21 options to choose from. D – Default input, select the type of input to be measured from the dropdown. E – Default Units, units of measurement for the meter. F – Meter Configuration, select whether the meter is Day/Night, 24 hour or Time of use (TOU Pricing). G – Meter Reading Interval count this is the number of intervals your meter records, for example a day/night meter would have two intervals. H – Meter Multiplier this is the number used to convert the meter reading to the actual quantity consumed. The system will choose a default value of 1 but users can override this. Meter Multiplier values can be found on the Bill or from the supplier. I – Maximum Meter Value, the stage at which your meter can go no further, and therefore will reset and start at the beginning again. E.g. if your meter has 4 digits, the Maximum Meter Value is likely to be 9999, at which point it will reset to 0000. This is an optional field and is only relevant to users who are entering meter reading data.
Step 6: Click the “Save” Button when finished inputting the fields.The meter number is automatically taken as the Mapping ID/Unique Identifier. This is for when a user wants to upload data into the activity from a spread sheet, the user would input a unique identifier for this activity which corresponds to the data which will be uploaded.
Step 7: The user will be then be requested to input the first entry of meter data, such as the quantity of gas, or electricity used for a specific period of time.
